Sacred Roots Music

Sacred roots music is gospel for the New Earth! These songs and chants are to celebrate the journey of initiation, the earth, her cycles, and elemental gifts. Some songs are about human longing and awakenings. Some are from Divine Feminine consciousness as she comes through this channel. They are influenced and inspired by ancestral work, the spiritual journey, the witnessing of others, and tapping into the collective consciousness.

Singing, dancing, making music, and ceremony have always been at the core and center of human spiritual indigenous practices. We use our voices to honor the ancestors, invoke the deities, and celebrate the Earth and the Great Mystery with song!

Jenna has a way of taking you right into heartbreak and hope on each note of her soulful, sexy melodies. Rootsy and passionate, Jenna Longmire brings her own blend of melodic blues to her songs. Her influences include Carol King, Lucinda Williams, Mavis Staples, Van Morrison, and Nina Simone. Her truth-telling songs create a unique sound that is a blend of pop, blues, and Americana. Her debut album Resistance was released in 2014 and she has released three singles since then, “Intention” and “The God I Knew” and her newest song, “Waking Up Now”. “Waking Up Now” is part of a series of songs and chants about embracing the call of the Divine and living from the heart. Her voice has been called a “healing salve to the soul”.

FROM JENNA ABOUT HER MUSIC, HER VISION, AND THE SONG “WAKING UP NOW”

Music has been with me since I was born and is who I am at my core. I started writing and performing later in life but I always played, first piano, then guitar. In my 20’s I wrote my first prayer/chant and sang it over and over as tears streamed down my face. That was the moment I learned to use my voice as medicine for my soul. I also write poems, blogs, mystical curricula, and memoirs. I have had a long career as a psychotherapist and healer. Between my dark night soul initiations, countless hours of witnessing and holding space for others while living largely and I’ve got fodder for songs for many years to come. The last few songs I’ve written are about my awakening during this time of great unrest and radical change. “Waking Up Now” is a song about the Divine Feminine spiritual awakening. I hope to assist in ushering in this way of living from the heart in truth and beauty.
